Joe Taveras is a mixed-media artist and founder whose paintings explore consciousness, interconnectedness, and the relationship between matter and movement. A former roboticist, he began painting in Los Angeles in March 2020. He is the Founder and CEO of New Renaissance and a cofounder of Interesting Concepts. Working with acrylic, oil sticks, ink, and watercolor, Taveras builds paintings through layered color and spontaneous gestures. His practice brings questions from science and philosophy into an intuitive approach to making. His painting God as Earth (2023) was gifted to Pope Francis, with receipt acknowledged by the Vatican, as documented in his March 2024 studio announcement. Through New Renaissance and Interesting Concepts, he extends his interests in creativity, technology, and human connection into cultural and entrepreneurial projects.
