Transitions records Taveras’s move from the West Coast to the Northeast in the summer of 2020. The original account names Brooklyn, Martha’s Vineyard, and Boston as the settings for this short body of work.
Angular faces, studies on paper, and photographs of marks made in sand appear together. The sequence follows a practice carried between places, finding surfaces and subjects along the way.
A portable practice
The original images connect closely observed heads and geometric structures with the movement of everyday life. Where the source did not preserve an artwork title, the photograph is presented simply as a series image.
